Voters met by the Herald Economy in the Chungcheong region on the 30th of last month and the 1st of this month showed the drifting public sentiment itself. Chungcheong, which is analyzed to have played the role of swing voters in nationwide elections such as the presidential election, general election, and local election, did not easily give a hand to either the People Power Party or the Democratic Party of Korea. Public opinion was sharply divided between those who condemned the People Power Party for its lack of follow-up measures and the chaos caused by the December 3 martial law, and those who viewed the Democratic Party of Korea's policy base as a "handout" while pointing out candidate Lee Jae-myung's judicial risks.
